“Coffee because adulting is hard.” That’s what my coffee mug at my office desk reads. While pouring coffee into it every day, it’s not the just the cup but my heart that gets filled with jubilation, with rejuvenated dreams, and with so much more. The cottony-cloud pattern that the smooth brown milk creates and the lustrous texture that the thick cream makes, gives me virtual wings to fly with. In that moment, I am not an adult stressing over a myriad of things. I am a bird. Perhaps an astronaut. Or a sculptor, who knows? While sipping coffee, I am whatever I want to be.
