The term ‘illustration‘ comes from the Latin word illustra’tio, illu’stro meaning enlighten, irradiate. In sense it an attempt at provocation. It is an invitation to an another world. A world twice removed from reality. It is at the same time real and unreal. Sometimes it triggers a memory and at other times it takes one on a trip to building newer ships to sail to brave new worlds. It is a story delineated in lines. It is a tale of the known and the unknown, the familiar and the strange.
Illustration illuminates. It enlightens.

Dark subjects and literature intrigue me when it comes to illustrating. Most of my work can be found on the WordPress blog, SlasherMonster. I love your definition of “illustration.” I’ll study your wonderful art and blog more closely soon.

Some of my illustrations are cartoon-like and not at all as sophisticated as yours. It’s all in good fun! 😀 I look forward to reading your work more thoroughly. All the best!
